Memory Lane

Well I missed a couple days, so this might be the not-so-daily-hopper to start, but my intention an goal is to get at least something posted daily! I have become absolutely absorbed in the projects mentioned in my previous posts. I have had two computers in front of me for the last three days straight, transferring files on one computer while working on the Crew’s Quarters pages on the other. I actually was so excited on Saturday that I did exactly that for 7 hours straight before breaking to eat and head to work for the night. 🤯

I love going through old photos and actually do it fairly regularly, but having had a camera more or less glued to my hand since I was eight years old, well… I don’t know how to quantify exactly how many photos I have! Not to mention they’re in almost as many mediums, thanks to the juxtaposition of my generation along the path of technological advancements. I have multiple types and sizes of negatives, I have loose prints still in their one-hour photo packages, I have photo albums and probably still a few floppy discs, lol. There are hundreds of discs with anywhere from 25 to several hundred photos each. Don’t forget the SD cards and USB drives and anything on my current computer and phone! 🤦‍♀️ Compiling everything into one orderly space can be disorienting, especially when dealing with digital files, as I have ended up with so many duplicates over the years. Good thing I love this type of nonsense. 🫠

Aside from burying myself in photos of all kids, I’m gearing up for an exciting month with major concert coming up, two nephews graduating, and planning a trip with a childhood friend whom I haven’t seen in almost 20 years! It’s funny to me, too that just last month she went to see the band I’m cheesing about seeing, The Red Hot Chili Peppers. 🥰 I have been a fan since I was four or five years old and actually just came across a letter I wrote to Santa Claus in ‘95 asking for RHCP cassette tapes alongside requests for a Polly Pocket and the movie Jafar Returns. I’ve always had a mixed bag of interests. 🙃

Well, I’d best hop to it, I’m hoping to get some more journal entries transferred today as well as some site edits to smooth out the mobile view of this site - the current layout isn’t as aesthetically functional as I’d like. I’m also working on subscription options for the site for those who’d like updates on projects. Thanks for bearing with me while I make live adjustments to the site; if I wait till everything’s “ready” on the site before making it public, I’ll never get this thing rolling.

Happy Hopping!
